Pipes burst when water freezes and expands inside them. We don’t have to worry about this as much in Georgia, but it’s always a good idea to insulate and drain any outdoor pipes or fixtures during cold winter months. Broken pipes can happen because of age or material. Modern pipes are more resistant to breaking but any pipe can break under the right conditions.

If you have a large leak, make sure to turn your water off before calling us. The easiest way to do this is at the shutoff for your water main, which is typically in your basement, garage, utility closet or outside.
