Energy Solutions

Have you ever thought about the amount of energy you might be losing through leaky doors and ductwork? Is your insulation doing its job? Are your appliances costing you more than you bargained for? Whether you’re concerned with your environmental footprint, the price of your utility bills, or the health of your family, Jordan Air has a number of energy solutions designed to make sure your home is up and running as efficiently as possible.

A home energy audit is the first step on the path toward a more comfortable, more affordable, healthier home. Using a variety of high-tech, state-of-the-art tools, we're able to identify the key areas where your home is wasting energy, and recommend the most cost-effective improvements for maximum comfort, minimum energy bills, and optimal indoor air quality and building health and safety.

Our approach in conducting home energy audits is to take a comprehensive, whole-house assessment of the home, which distinguishes our "whole-house energy audit" from the "clipboard audits" offered by many utilities, box stores, and companies that offer a discounted audit as a means to sell products or services.

Our whole-house energy audit looks at the building envelope (which includes all the components that make up your home's outer shell, including windows, doors, insulation levels, and the level of air leakage in between building materials); all combustion equipment including boilers, furnaces and water heaters; and the movement of air within the home to ensure that the air you and your family are breathing is fresh, healthy and safe. During the audit, we use an infrared camera to identify air leakage and deficient insulation, a blower door to measure the rate of air infiltration in the home, and a duct blaster test to determine whether your ducts are well-sealed, among other tools.

Jordan Air focuses on making your home more comfortable and more energy efficient. We have always had a passion for conserving energy, and we’ve recently spent extensive time training our technicians on home performance measures. With this training, we’ve realized the huge impact that can be made on power consumption. We’re here to help you decide what improvements can be made to make your home more comfortable and more energy efficient.

You’re heading out of town for the week for a family vacation. The car is packed, and you’re an hour down the road before you realize, that in the rush of leaving, you left your air conditioning on full blast and your kids left on every light in the house.Your next power bill is going to be through the roof, and there’s nothing you can do about it. With NexiaTM Smart Home Automation, all these problems can be solved anywhere at anytime. Controlling your air conditioning and heating has never been easier. With NexiaTM, you’re able to adjust your home’s temperature from the tips of your fingers via your phone.

If you’re looking to lower your energy costs immediately while being environmentally friendly, you should consider a geothermal system. A geothermal system heats and cools your home without burning fossil fuels; it, instead, generates electricity by pulling from the constant temperature deep in the earth. During the colder season, your home is warmed through heat in the earth. When it’s hot outside, your home is cooled by the movement of heat back into the earth.
We take great care to ensure that the insulation products we use are of the highest quality, and are the best fit for our clients for any given project. Whether you're looking for the most environmentally friendly solution -- cellulose insulation made from recycled newspaper, for example -- or the highest R-value, highest performance insulation products on the market like open and closed cell spray foam, we have the products to meet your needs.
Have you ever wondered how much energy your oven, computer or coffee maker uses? Some of the biggest energy hogs are washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, and water pumps (source). Determining how much energy your appliances use sheds light on the amount of money you’re paying to use them. Jordan Air is able to come in with a variety of state-of-the-art tools to identify which appliances in your home are energy suckers. We’re then able to recommend the most cost-effective way to improve your energy efficiency. Call Jordan Air today for an efficiency review of your appliances.

Leaky ducts can be the source of high heating and cooling bills, poor indoor air quality, and reduced equipment performance. These leaks are a major source of energy waste, and it’s on your dime. If your ducts aren’t functioning properly, your air conditioning could be getting sent to spaces such as the attic or garage instead of the house, causing an uncomfortable temperature. Basically, duct leaks lead to a plethora of problems.

Blower door testing is a way to test the "leakiness" of your home. By depressurizing your home and measuring the rate at which air infiltrates through imperfections in the building envelope, we're able to assess how much energy (and money) is escaping through air leaks, and how much you're likely to save by fixing those leaks.
