How social distancing has shaken up the heating & air industry?

July 20, 2020

This time last year, we were rocking and rolling. Temperatures and supplies were high, keeping us busy and confident. Fast forward to July 2020…we’re in the midst of a pandemic, folks are staying at home more, temperatures are high and, well, our supplies and options for parts are not. Some have called it the “Perfect Storm” in the HVAC industry. Many of the parts that go on your heating and air system come from outside of the US. Yes we all want to buy American, but frankly, that’s not always possible. And by parts we mean a coil that goes into your air conditioner or fan blower to keep your system cooling your home. Factories shut down across the world in February…then began to slowly open back up but are still not at full capacity do to social distancing and the new world we live in. As stimulus checks brought more spending power, the home improvement market soared, bringing with it surge in heating and cooling purchases, especially during the summer season.

What does this mean for you?
Our goal here at Jordan Air is to make it mean absolutely nothing. We don’t want you to see any difference from us. 5 Star service is our promise. However, we may not be able to offer as many options when it comes to new systems and repairs.

How are we combating this?
Jordan Air is stocking up on all essential parts and units. We’re clearing out our warehouse so we can buy the maximum every day so that our inventory doesn’t suffer.

In conclusion, we truly wanted to just let you know what was going on. If we take a bit more time to get a part in or show you 5 options instead of 6 for a new system, know that we are working as hard as we can to not let the HVAC supply chain affect you, our valued customer. Thank you for allowing us to continue to provide you with 5 star service as we all get through these trying times together.
