Back to School Tips!
Is your home not staying as cool as it did at the beginning of summer? Increase your knowledge with these helpful tips!
First thing you should do is check your air filter. Typically you should change a standard filter once a month. But running your A/C more will increase the amount of dust and particles that get stuck in the filter, causing your Air Conditioner to run more. Many times, a fresh filter will do the trick! And did you have filters at a great price?
Keep your windows covered during the day. When the sun is bearing down on your home, closing your blinds or pulling the shades can help keep the room cooler.
Ask us about a dehumidifier. We live in the humid south. Jordan Air offers whole-home dehumidifiers that will take moisture out of the air, allowing your Air Conditioner to work less while keeping your home cooler.
Make sure your ceiling fans are set to a counter clock-wise rotation. This will pull the warm air upwards, making the room feel cooler.
Routine maintenance is a vital part of keeping your Air Conditioner running in tip-top shape. Think of it as changing the oil in your car or getting a check-up with your doctor. Jordan Air's Air Care Club gives you two yearly visits, one to service your Air Conditioner and one to service your Heating system. For more info, visit our Air Care Club.
Last but not least, evaluate the age of your Heating and Cooling system. Yes, we have heard of systems lasting 20+ years, but that is very uncommon. Once you get past year 10, you're out of warranty AND prone to expensive breakdowns. PLUS your system is not in the same caliber as new efficient models. Jordan Air offers a complimentary consultation so evaluate your entire system and give you options on a new, energy-efficient model. Simply give us a call to set up an appointment. Ask for Becky.
Not only will these tips help keep your home cool, but they should help lower your energy bills as well.
